AMPTHILL TOWN COUNCIL REPORT OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING Held on Monday 9th November 2009 at 7.30pm In the Council Chamber, 66 Dunstable Street, Ampthill.

Present: Councillors Mrs S Bacon (Chairman), P A Eversley, R A Holden, Mrs P Foster, M A Smith, Mrs M Wilson and the Deputy Town Clerk.
Apologies: Apologies were received from Cllrs R A D Chappell (unwell), G Pascal, G Summerfield, R Tebbutt (all at Covanta meeting) and Mrs A M Wright (prior commitment).
1. Public Participation There were no requests made to speak and no members of the public in attendance.
2. Declarations of Interest Cllr P Eversley declared a personal interest in the application for land to the rear of 104 Flitwick Road as he was personally known to the applicant.
Cllr Mrs S Bacon declared a personal interest in the application for 80 Dunstable Street as she is known to the applicant.
3. The following applications considered under delegation by the Deputy Clerk in consultation with the Planning Committee Chairman and Vice Chairman was noted: CB/09/05814/FULL 100 Flitwick Road. Removal of hedges and fencing to be replaced with brick walls to front side and rear and iron railing to front of property.

a) Would appear to be taking over public footpath FP1 to gain access to the site – refer to drawing no. SE2541B; b) Access is opposite entrance to Redborne Upper School causing safety concerns; c) Central Beds Rights of Way Officer should investigate the status and ownership of the path.

CB/TPO/09/00138 The Alameda. Reduce canopies of 94 lime trees to 9m and remove dead wood and re-pollard Ampthill Town Council
Resolved: That the above application be noted.
6. Street Naming and Numbering – Land r/o 1-13 Oliver Street Notification has been received to name the above application site and the developer has proposed the following:
Members considered the suggestions and concluded that Willow Court could be too confusing as there is already Willow Way. Clara Court struck no accord with the members and Maple Court was not considered appropriate as there are no Maple trees on site.
Recommended: That Burgess Court is considered as Oliver Street was once home to the Burgess Water Mineral Factory and this would give an historical reference to the naming of the development.
7. Design Guide Central Beds have launched the design guide for consultation which will form part of the LDF. Comments are due on 16 November 2009. The guide can be viewed on the Central Beds website or a paper copy is available from the Deputy Clerk.
Recommended: That members forward any comments to the Deputy Clerk before 16th November.
