Present: Councillors Mrs S Bacon, (Chairman) R A D Chappell, P A Eversley, Mrs P Foster,              R A Holden, G Pascal, M A Smith, G Summerfield, R Tebbutt, Mrs M Wilson, the Clerk.

Apologies: Apologies were received from Cllrs Mrs A M Wright (on holiday) and P Duckett (election work).

            There had been no requests to speak.

  1. 2.                 Election of Vice Chairman

Cllr G Pascal was nominated, seconded and duly elected as Vice Chairman for 2009/2010.

  1. 3.                 Declarations of Interest

Cllr R Holden declared an interest in the application for the rear of 81 Dunstable Street as he lives opposite the site in Preston Close.

Cllr G Summerfield declared an interest in the application for Grange Stud Farm as he had held discussions with the applicant on this application.

Cllr H Chappell declared an interest in the application for Dove Cottage as he knows the applicant, but as this is just a personal interest it would not prevent him from voting.

Resolved: that the application be SUPPORTED subject to the extension being tied into the sole use of the existing dwelling. Due to the unique setting of Dove Cottage and very restricted access could a note be added to the applicants if successful that there is no loss of amenity to neighbouring properties whilst the building is under construction.

Resolved that the application be REFUSED:

  • There would be insufficient car parking space for a four bed roomed house.
  • The proposal would be overbearing on the existing properties and the street scene.

Cllr Holden wished it to be recorded that he did not take part in the voting on this application.
