Covanta - The fight continues
Wednesday, 16 November 2011 15:03

Clearly everyone who fought the Covanta proposal will be deeply disappointed and angry to learn that despite overwhelming local and national opposition the IPC have approved the monster incinerator.

This is not the end of the road. The Environment Agency are yet to give its approval and to date Covanta have no significant customers so the economics of the incinerator don't stack up.

What you can do

  • The On-Line Petition is still open. Please visit www.mmetag.com - show your support - sign and encourage others to do so.
  • Central Beds Council are examining the IPC process for possible non adherence, in order that they can instigate a possible judicial review. If you felt that the IPC were obstructive or that the process failed in some way - visit www.mmetag.com for details on how you can register your comments.
  • Posters and leaflets are still available to download at www.mmetag.com - please use them to help spread the word to others.
